Following on from the success of Bridgestone"™s sponsorship of The Bridgestone Route 69 in 2012, Bridgestone SA has renewed their sponsorship of what will now be known as The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience.

"Following the success of last year"™s event, we are more than happy to continue our relationship with the event which is fast growing into one of the leading cycling routes in South Africa. We feel confident that we can attract and support of our high-end target market. We consider the Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience, now in its third year and organised by highly respected race organiser Rob Jackson of the Leverage Corporation, to be a platinum event in terms of both the experience it offers to riders and its ideal timing so early in the race calendar" says Jan Maritz, Promotions and Advertising Manager of Bridgestone SA.

Starting in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind and finishing at Kloofzicht Lodge also in The Cradle, some three days later, this is the ride to do if you"™ve committed to doing one or more of the big mountain biking events in 2013 - Epic, Joburg2C or Sani2C. Riders have the option of registering for either the three-day Experience, two-day Weekend Experience or one-day Mini Experience event.

The rugged and somewhat challenging route begins in The Cradle of Humankind on Friday the 15th of February, and ends up at the luxurious Kloofzicht Lodge in The Cradle some three days and 200km later on the 17th of February. The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience is a well-timed race providing a great opportunity for all serious mountain bikers looking to prepare for some of the popular endurance events taking place in March, April and May.

"Many of our riders are training for some of the bigger events and The Bridgestone Route 66 Experience offers them just that opportunity. So if you"™re training for Epic, Sani, Joburg2c, then this is the race to do. But we have a field of mountain biking purists who come and do this event for the pure fun and enjoyment of mountain biking. After all that"™s what mountain biking is about; pure riding pleasure. And the Bridgestone Route 66 Experience offers just that." says Rob Jackson, Managing Director of The Leverage Corporation.

"Results show that more adults are participating in cycling than golf and it is affectionately known as the "New Golf". One of the reasons for its great success is the powerful experiential opportunity one finds with the sport. With the right product those involved in the event not only get to see the brand, but they get to experience it as well. We are delighted to have Bridgestone on board for another year and believe they will continue to add value to the race. The third event promises to be bigger and better than ever and we look forward to providing mountain bike enthusiasts with a unique and memorable experience," concludes Jackson.

Entries for The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience are open and will close when a full field of 600 riders is reached. For more information on the event, go to www.route66mtb.co.za.
