Bridgestone's involvement in mountain biking in 2012 has been nothing short of fantastic. Announcing its sponsorship of The Bridgestone Route 69 MTB Experience, which took place in February, the event grew by almost 300% to see nearly 600 riders, including some of Bridgestone's top clients and dealers, taking part in the three-day event.

From there Bridgestone, as part of its sponsorship agreement, has become a co-sponsor to all of The Leverage Corporation mountain biking events for 2012.

Since then, Bridgestone has been involved with the highly successful and acclaimed Corporate Mountain Bike Challenge Series, the largest Corporate Series in South Africa, with the first leg having taken place in March at the luxurious Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift.

Next the Honda Mountain Trophy in April that took place at Maropeng in The Cradle of Humankind. A staggering 700 riders took part in this event. Most notable was Bridgestone's participation, with the highlight for many being the Bridgestone Water Tables and the Bridgestone Bike Wash.

June saw Bridgestone's sponsorship reap even more benefits with its involvement in the largest, ladies-only mountain biking event on the African continent – The Nashua Mobile Ladies MTB Day. Some 600 ladies had the ride of their lives and Bridgestone was there to make things as exciting as possible for the ladies.

Then in early July, the second leg of The Corporate MTB Challenge Series took place at the Van Gaalen's Cheese Farm, and again, Bridgestone was there to support the riders.

"We still have some really exciting events taking place for the remainder of 2012, including the most prestigious and largest multi-day stage race, The Magalies Adventure, taking place in August. Bridgestone will be there to make the event special for our clients, dealers and of course all the riders taking part," said Tony Burns - Group Marketing Manager of Bridgestone. "Bridgestone's sponsorship of The Bridgestone Route 69 MTB Experience as well as all the other Leverage Corporation events has afforded Bridgestone the opportunity to interact with in excess of 20 000 active mountain bikers in and around Gauteng. Along with that many other mountain bikers in the country have been exposed to our various co-sponsorships with all the TV coverage we have received. It's been an exciting adventure so far and we are looking forward to the events still to come in 2012."
