Bridgestone establishes Diversified Products Company in China

Tokyo (May 6, 2010) — Bridgestone Corporation announced today that it has established the Bridgestone Diversified Products China Co., Ltd. in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. The company will coordinate the business operations and sales of Bridgestone’s industrial products, construction materials, electronic components, industrial chemical products and diversified original equipment products (hereby collectively referred to as diversified products operations) for the Chinese market

Bridgestone operates a total of eight diversified products companies in China and Hong Kong (Details on the next page). The establishment of a Diversified Products management company will improve the administrative support functions of each company, and will help to strengthen their corporate governance systems. The company will also oversee certain sales functions in order to develop more efficient business operations in order to better meet customer needs in the Chinese market. Going forward, Bridgestone will work to further expand its diversified products business in the Chinese market, which is expected to continue to grow well into the future.
