Irregular wear

Regular, even tyre wear is directly influenced by wheel geometry settings and parallelism of axles. Uneven wear on one or more truck or trailer tyres means these wheel positions could need readjustment.

Your truck wheel alignment specialist will carry out this verification. A comparison to the vehicle manufacturer's specification is necessary. The following precautions will ensure reliable measurements:

• Park the properly trimmed vehicle on a perfectly level surface.
• Check the correctness of calibrations on measuring devices.
• Lateral wheel runout must be double-checked in 2 wheel positions (1800 apart).
• There must be no excessive play in wheel attachments and bearings.
• The static loaded radii of all tyres should be comparable (all the same size, inflation pressure; non skid).
